This famous work from the Carnival of the Animals is probably one of the best known in the cello repertoire. The "Swan" was originally written for cello and two pianos and later arranged with a single piano by the cellist Charles-Joseph Lebouc, with the composer's permission. This second version on which this edition is based was published for the first time by Durand in 1887.
